Francine Joy "Fran" Drescher (born September 30, 1957) is an American film and television actress, comedian, screenwriter, television director, producer, author, activist, singer and political lobbyist. Drescher is best known for playing Fran Fine on the television series The Nanny, for which she was nominated for two Emmys and two Golden Globe Awards.
