Vavau Island , Tonga

Vavaʻu is an island chain of one large island and 40 smaller ones in Tonga.
Don Francisco Antonio Mourelle was the first European to come to Vavaʻu, in February 1781. Captain James Cook knew about the island a decennium before, but the people in Haʻapai told him it would be no good for him to go there as there was no harbour. Apparently they did not want him to come, and Cook heeded their advice./Wikipedia/

Atapuerca caves

The Atapuerca Mountains (Sierra de Atapuerca in Spanish) is an ancient karstic region of Spain, near the town of the same name and Ibeas de Juarros, containing several caves, where fossils and stone tools of the earliest known Hominians in West Europe have been found.
In 1994 and 1995, archaeologists have found over 80 bone fragments from five or six hominids dating to between 850,000 to 780,000 years ago.
About 25% of the human remains found here showed the first evidence of cannibalism. These finds are at least 250,000 years older than any other hominid yet discovered in western Europe. It is still debated as to which species these fossils belong to, either Homo erectus, Homo heidelbergensis, or a new species called Homo antecessor./Wikipedia/

Spaghetti

Spaghetti is made of semolina and water.
Chinese noodles pre-date Italian pasta, and Arab traders most likely became introduced to them due to their trade routes with China. Historically, people in Italy ate pasta in the form of gnocchi-like dumplings – pasta fresca eaten as soon as it was prepared. It has now been asserted that the Muslims who populated Southern Italy (around the 12th Century) were the first to develop the innovation of working pasta from grain into thin long forms, capable of being dried out and stored for months or years prior to consumption (see Peter Robb's Midnight in Sicily pp 94-96 for details). Or Muslim traders with links to Arab trade routes to china, may have been introduced to pasta or noodles that way. Legend has it that Cicero, the famous Roman orator was fond of "laganum," an ancient tagliatelle. The Saracens, originally from North Africa, invaded southern Italy in the 9th century and occupied Sicily for 200 years. Pasta is now associated with Italians as a whole. The popularity of pasta spread to the whole of Italy after the establishment of pasta factories in the 19th century, enabling the mass production of pasta for the Italian market./Wikipedia/

Latte Stones , Marianas Islands

A latte stone, or simply latte (also latde), is the term for a pillar (Chamorro language: haligi) capped by a hemispherical stone capital (tasa) with the flat side facing up. Used as building supports by the ancient Chamorro people, they are found throughout most of the Marianas Islands. In modern times, the latte stone is seen as a sign of Chamorro identity and is used in many different contexts.

Latte stones varied greatly in size. The smallest were several feet tall. The largest latte still standing is 16 feet (5m) tall, located in Tinian. In Rota, quarried latte would have stood 25 feet (8m) high if erected. The largest shaft found here weighs 34 tons while the largest cap weighs 22 tons

Latte stones began to be used in about the 800 C.E.
